Great visit today at the OB - she is growing right on target and the doc thinks her head is down. The big "weigh-in" showed I've gained 14 pounds to date (about 4 this month). One more monthly check and then it's every 2 weeks. Can you believe she'll be here in 3 months??
My first ultrasound - that gave us such great pictures - also showed that I have a mildly low lying placenta. Basically, no harm right now (and lots of women have a low lying placenta initally), but it can be a risk factor later for placenta previa (which means the placenta may cover the cervix and cause a lot of bleeding and delivery complications). So, to ensure that as my belly's been growing that the placenta is moving away from the cervix, I will get another ultrasound down at 28 weeks. It is scheduled for Sept 4th. I should get another look at her gorgeous face too!! FUN! I certainly will post that day for anyone wanting another glipse.
