Jon has had his "little" 1955 Chevy since he was 15 years old. He restored it once and drove it for years (even as his everyday driver while in the Airforce!). Then when we got married, he decided it was time to "re-do" it nad fancy it all up with a new LS1 Corvette Motor and a Supercharger, Air Ride, Digital gages, 5 computers running the machine, new HUGE tires and wheels and a new paint job (I am sure I am leaving out a million other "new" things, but that's what stood out to me). AND....Jon painted it himself...in our garage! It's amazing the time, effort and pure love he has put into this machine.
A few weeks ago, a deadline was put on him to get to a Speedworld event that was held this last weekend, where his Cali buddy Jarod would be racing too. (They've been building cars together since they were kids!) And so the time crunch ensued and Jon worked his butt off to get this thing put together. In realizing he was sold the wrong torque convertor, he took out the transmission and accidentally dropped it on his hand: broke his first finger (on his R hand) in what I suspect is 2 places and also had a nice laceration that I, myself, had to put 3 stitches in.
So, now he had to put the car back together with stiches and a broken finger that was splinted up.
Well, put it together he did.

And a few days later, it actually moved out of the garage for the first time - even more exciting!
