Gender Revealed

Yesterday was an amazing day in our little life.  Not only to have the gender of our little rainbow baby revealed, but also to be reassured that everything is "perfectly healthy".  No cleft lip, 4 chambers of the heart, no increased nuchal fold, gorgeous spine, femur and humerus normal, placenta in correct position, and cervix closed and thick.  We are so fortunate and thrilled to share the pictures of our beautiful baby BOY!

Leighton, on the other hand, is having a more difficult time adjusting to the fact that it's a brother and not a sister.  Since the day we told her there was a "baby in mama's belly" she has INSISTED (in only a way a 3 year old could) that it's a girl/sister!  We've tried various approaches to talk about why it would be ok if it was a boy, but she just isn't having it.

Here is a priceless video of her, while we were still in the doctor's office, telling her for the 3rd (!) time that it is indeed a boy and that she will have a baby brother.  I'm so glad I thought to video tape it.  It will be amazing to share when the two of them are older.

The rest of the day, we were on cloud 9, literally.  And, I even got to cozy up to the big sister during a sunset boat ride at Grandma and Papa's house.

P.S.  I can't believe I'm having a SON!  It's crazy to even write those letters!!
